Mozart’s Requiem
FEBRUARY 20 & 21, 2027
SAT 7:30 PM | SUN 4:00 PM
Featuring The Ohio State University Choirs
-
There are works so profound they transcend time itself. Mozart's Requiem — his final, unfinished masterwork, completed in the shadow of his own death, stands as one of music's most shattering and sublime achievements. NGSO surrounds it with two works of equal spiritual weight: Mozart's own radiant Overture to The Magic Flute, bursting with light and mystery, and Mahler's transcendent Adagietto, one of the most achingly beautiful five minutes in all of symphonic music. This is an evening of profound reflection and breathtaking beauty, a concert that will leave you changed.
Program
Mozart: Overture to Die Zauberflöte
Mahler: Adagietto from Symphony No. 5
Mozart: Requiem in D minor, K. 626
A Tribute to Our Nation’s Heroes

Featuring Jana Ross, violin and Nicholas Ross, piano
-
The season ends with a roar. NGSO closes 2026–2027 with a monumental program honoring the courage, sacrifice, and enduring spirit of America's heroes. John Williams sets the stage with the stirring Midway March and his hauntingly beautiful Theme from Schindler's List, featuring NGSO's own Jana Ross on violin. Then Ravel's fearlessly daring Piano Concerto for the Left Hand, composed for a pianist who lost his arm in World War I, thunders with defiant brilliance, performed by Nicholas Ross. After intermission, Aaron Copland's mighty Symphony No. 3, arguably the greatest American symphony ever written, fills the hall with the sound of a nation's soul. Its finale, built on the famous Fanfare for the Common Man, is nothing less than a call to stand and cheer.
Program
Williams:Midway March
Williams: Theme from Schindler's List
Ravel: Piano Concerto in D major for the Left Hand
Copland: Symphony No. 3
